After the extraordinary success of the first edition of Catholic Girl, which quickly sold out and became a collector’s item, we are thrilled to announce the release of a brand new second edition.
This reissue is designed to give wider access to Andrea Modica’s powerful early work—without compromising the visual and emotional intensity that made the original book so compelling. We’ve simplified the format slightly and adopted a softcover design, allowing us to offer the book at a more accessible price, while maintaining the same printing quality and intimate feel.
Originally shot in 1984 in the Catholic high schools Modica once attended, Catholic Girl is a deeply personal series that explores adolescence with clarity, tenderness, and restraint. Captured with a large-format 8×10 camera, the images evoke memory, vulnerability, and the formative energy of youth.
This second edition preserves the spirit and precision of the original: 48 pages, tritone printing, and Modica’s own words framing the experience. It is a testament to how a photographic project can remain timeless, resonating with new audiences while retaining the same emotional depth.
