Artist’s Book Workshop — Stromboli
An island, a place to pause, observe and create. A space where images, ideas and stories come together to take the form of a book.
L’Arcipelago is a workshop in Stromboli dedicated to the artist’s book as a form of research, expression and storytelling. Bringing together photography, graphic design and publishing, the workshop offers participants the opportunity to develop a personal project and explore the many possibilities of the book as an object.
Through editing, sequencing, design and material experimentation, participants will work on the relationship between images, words, rhythm, paper and form. Each project will evolve from an initial idea into a physical book dummy or a small-edition artist’s book.
The workshop is conceived around the making of a tangible object: by the end of the experience, every participant will have produced their own physical book and a few printed copies to take home. The aim is to bring it into the world as a finished, personal publication.
Set in the distinctive landscape of Stromboli, L’Arcipelago is also an invitation to share time, ideas and practices, and to explore new ways of thinking about and making books.

The workshop fee is €3,500 per participant. Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included.
We will assist participants with travel arrangements and coordinate transportation to and from Stromboli. We have also partnered with a local hotel offering special rates for workshop participants.
